New Castle Elderly Man Killed While Riding Bicycle

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- Police in New Castle, Lawrence County, say an elderly man was shot and killed while riding a bicycle.

Someone spotting deer discovered the body of 71-year-old Leroy Blashak Tuesday afternoon in the Mahoningtown section of the city.

Blashak was a familiar face in that area of the city as people often saw him out and about.

During an autopsy, a bullet was recovered from Blashak's right shoulder.

Police aren't saying if they have a theory about the circumstances around his death, but they are asking for the public's help.
