PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Authorities are investigating after a man was found dead inside of a home today in Pittsburgh’s Sheraden neighborhood.

Police and the Allegheny County Medical Examiner’s Office were called to the house in the 1200-block of Hillsboro Street this afternoon.

Investigators say a fire from a 3-foot Christmas tree started in the upstairs bedroom around 3 a.m.

Ron Baker, 54, and his wife, 41-year-old Ronnie Baker, woke up, put out the fire and went back to sleep.

“A woman woke up this morning and found the man in the bathtub, like I said – unconscious and ultimately fatally injured as a result of this incident,” Pittsburgh Police Lt. Kevin Kraus said.

“They believe the fire had been adequately extinguished, they felt comfortable, they were cleaning up after it,” Kraus said. “What happened after that – after she went back to bed – we’re still trying to determine.”

Police say the victim told his wife not to call 911 when the fire started and said he would take care of it.

Sorry to hear, Marty was hoping he was a section 8 crackhead, but he was a regular guy. Too bad , Marty had to make it seem like there was some evil involved

You people in Pittsgurg and surrounding area are cold hearted. Some one died and all you do is make jokes. What is wrong with you people. Come in out of the cold the weather it is clearly freezing your brains..

The first mistake was not calling 911 even a small fire can put off enough toxic materials to effect the heart and lungs. The fire dept would have made sure they where safe . Even if everyone thought it was a nonsense call.
Better to be safe than sorry.
