Crews Fix Lawrenceville Water Main Break
LAWRENCEVILLE (KDKA) - A water main break in Lawrenceville over the weekend left an icy mess for residents.
The water main break happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on Ligonier Street. Crews were able to fix the break Monday evening.
The flowing water froze and left a sheet of ice on the road and the sidewalks.
On Tuesday, a salt truck had made two passes by 6 a.m., which helped the situation. In addition, thick chunks of ice are starting to break off as a result of warmer temperatures and residents walking on the sidewalk.
According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority was dealing with several other water main breaks in the area that took priority.
