'Doc' Emrick Previews The NHL All-Star Weekend

Pittsburgh (93-7 The FAN) - Mike "Doc" Emrick of Versus and NBC, will be the play-by-play announcer for the NHL All-Star Game, and he joined the FAN Morning Show Wednesday morning.

Emrick previews the new All-Star draft happening on Friday night at 8 p.m. He thinks it was something needed by the league and it will allow fans to be more involved in the All-Star Game.

Emrick will enjoy seeing how the players are picked and what teammates will be going up against each other. He defers a question to Brendan Shanahan, who came up with the draft, about the teams being able to trade players after the draft.

Sidney Crosby has been out for nine consecutive games from concussion symptoms. Doc thinks the league is moving in the right direction by suspending players for hits to the head, but he said if the hits continue, then the league will have to suspend players for 12 or 18 games.
