Clark, Steelers Always Had Big Ben's Back

Pittsburgh (93-7 The FAN) - Steelers safety Ryan Clark joined the FAN Morning Show via phone from chilly Dallas, Texas.

Sports Illustrated writer Peter King released a story from a interview with Commissioner Roger Goodell. In that interview, King quoted Goodell as saying no players he spoke with supported Ben Roethlisbeger during the suspension. Because of how the quote looked in the article, the belief was that Goodell had only spoken with Steelers players.

Later, King corrected the statement to say Goodell wasn't necessarily talking about Steelers players not supporting Roethlisberger. Rather, the dozen, or so, NFL players Goodell had spoken with did not support Big Ben.

Clark tells the FAN Morning Show about the team's reaction when first heard of the news. He also reiterated that the team had Big Ben's back through the suspension.

After the incident, Roethlisberger has appeared to be a changed man and Clark thinks he has become a more effective leader since his suspension.
