OAKLAND (KDKA) — Oakland is one Pittsburgh neighborhood police will be watching closely in the aftermath of Super Bowl XLV.

Forbes Avenue from McKee Place to Bigelow Boulevard will close at 9 p.m. Sunday. Parking restrictions will begin at 4 p.m.

The Hillman Library was near ground zero in 2009 when the Steelers won their sixth title and some students went on a vandalism spree. A Port Authority bus shelter was destroyed.

Some students at Pitt have rallied behind a Facebook page urging responsible celebration Sunday.

“Hoping that this year we sort of quell that expectation for chaos, to sort of mitigate that expectation of lawlessness,” James Lomuscio, creator of the Facebook page, said.

So far, about 1,600 students have joined the page.
