Police Looking For Hit-And-Run Suspect In Squirrel Hill

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A pedestrian suffered head injuries in a hit-and-run accident in Squirrel Hill.

Witnesses told police the pedestrian was crossing against traffic on Forward Avenue near Murray Avenue shortly before 7 a.m. Monday.

The victim, struck by a late model Bonneville, was thrown by the impact.

Pittsburgh police say the driver initially pulled over a short distance away, but drove off toward the Parkway East once he saw the pedestrian walk to the sidewalk.

The pedestrian was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital and is listed in fair condition.

Police are looking for the driver, described as a white male in his 50's with salt and pepper hair, a goatee and a medium build.
