Flood Preparations Underway In Beaver Co.

NORTH SEWICKLEY TOWNSHIP (KDKA) - Water levels along the Beaver and Ohio Rivers were higher Monday due to overnight rains.

Residents along Connoquenessing Creek haven't experienced much flooding yet, but the worst could be on the way.

With the early morning downpours, you didn't have to go far to find large areas of standing water in Beaver County.

Some residents were dealing with basement floods Monday morning.

In North Sewickley Township, there was a sense of urgency among the residents.

"The plan is to get as much out of here as I can, get the neighbor's trailer out of here that he's been living in since the last flood. And, just get everything up," Russ Wiles said.

The small community is no stranger to flooding when Connoquenessing Creek swells.

One thing residents are concerned about is the vast amount of water upstream that is making its way down the creek.

There doesn't appear to be much rain left in the forecast for the next 48 hours. However, the water rushing their way may make their flooding fears a reality.
