Lightning Strikes Brookline Church - Again

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A church in Brookline was struck by lightning.

But it's not the first time it happened.

The lightning early Monday morning hit the Brookline Assembly of God Church's chimney – the same one that was repaired last summer from an earlier strike.

Bricks from the chimney blew onto a neighboring roof and fell between the church and the business next door.

"Apparently it got hit by lightning and the front of the chimney came off," John Wanto, of Brookline, said.

Back in 2008, an ambulance was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on Brookline Boulevard and crashed into the front of the church.

Part of the front of the building had to be repaired and the main steps had to be replaced.
