Car Hits Utility Pole, Gas Meter In Shenango Twp.

SHENANGO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — Several homes were evacuated after a car hit a gas meter in Shenango Township, Lawrence County.

It happened on Savannah Road.

Police believe the driver blacked out and went off the road, hitting a utility pole and a gas meter.

Four homes were evacuated because raw gas was flowing from the pipelines. Shenango Township firefighters plugged the line.

Two people had minor injuries.

After firefighters secured the line, the evacuees were allowed back into their homes.
