PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Commuters have had to get used to not being able to park in the Mon Wharf recently. On Monday, it was announced that it won’t be open for the rest of the week.
According to a statement from the Public Parking Authority of Pittsburgh, the Mon Wharf will remain closed through Friday, March 18 due to an ongoing flood advisory.
With flooding expected to continue into Saturday, the Parking Authority is suggesting that commuters seek alternate parking arrangements.
They are suggesting the First Avenue Garage and Second Avenue Plaza as alternatives to the Mon Wharf.
Once the water recedes, cleanup efforts will begin. However, a timetable for those efforts is unknown.
On a more positive note, the 10th Street Bypass reopened around 5 a.m. Monday.
