Analyst: Pitt Should Make Big Run In Tournament

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) – Sporting News senior college basketball writer Mike Decourcy joined the FAN Morning Show to preview the NCAA Tournament.

Decourcy says what basketball fans should be focusing on in this year’s tournament is the horrible job the NCAA selection committee has done with the seedings in the brackets.

In Decourcy’s opinion, there is no way Butler and Pitt should be meeting in a third round game, and no reason that Ohio State, the No. 1 overall seed, should see a team like George Mason in the second game.

He thinks Pitt will have trouble with Butler in the third round, but will be successful against them.

Decourcy sees Pitt making a big run in the tournament because there is not that “killer player” in this tournament that has beat Pitt in the past.

Unless there is a vast improvement in the way they played yesterday, Pitt will not make it out of the “Terrific Thirty-two”! What a shame! They cannor handle an aggressive press, their turnovers are too frequent, and Gary McGhee is fortunate he didn’t hurt himself when he was clanging the ball off the bottom of the rim and having to duck the rebounding ball. This team talks a great game but does not appear to be very focused on the opportunity in front of them. Done on Saturday…..just sayin’
