Couple Charged After Scuffle With Cop At Ross Twp. Bar

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- A couple is facing multiple charges following a dispute at a bar in Ross Township.

Police say 25-year-old John Lavery of Bradford Woods and 24-year-old Danielle Drzemiecki of Reserve Township were arrested at Shenanigan's Bar & Grille on Babcock Boulevard on Thursday evening.

Both are facing a long list of charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

According to Ross Township police, an on-duty officer at the bar on a separate matter saw Drzemiecki punch Lavery in the face multiple times. While trying to escort the woman from the bar, authorities say Lavery tried to block the officer's path.

Once the three made it outside, investigators say Lavery is accused of punching the officer, resulting in a struggle between the two.

During the incident, police say Drzemiecki jumped on the officer's back.

Drzemiecki was arrested when back-up officers arrived. Police say a Taser was used to subdue Lavery and take him into custody.

Authorities say Drzemiecki told police that she was initially "punching Lavery because he likes it."

The two were taken to the Allegheny County Jail for arraignment.
