PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Play ball! It’s an exciting day for baseball fans in Pittsburgh.

In a sure sign of spring, fans have packed PNC Park over on the North Shore for the 2011 Home Opener. The Pirates are taking on the Colorado Rockies.

Heading into today’s game, the Pirates are 4-2. And with their road win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday afternoon, the Bucs won back to back road series to begin the season. It was the first time since August 2007 that the Pirates won back-to-back road series.
