Beagle Loses Leg After Shooting In Uniontown

By Trina Orlando

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- Police are investigating the shooting of a dog in Fayette County.

It happened on Monday on Coolspring Street in Uniontown.

The Fuller family's Beagle named Harley managed to get loose during the day and wandered into a yard down the road. That's where they say a neighbor shot their dog with a .22-caliber rifle.

Another neighbor saw what happened and brought the animal back to the Fuller's. They took Harley to the vet where his leg had to be amputated.

So far his medical bills have reached nearly $1,000 and he still needs more care. Harley is in good spirits and expected to be alright.

No charges have been filed, but the Fuller family is hopeful that will happen soon.
