Surveillance Video Of Shootout Near Peabody High School Released

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Police released surveillance video taken by school security cameras of last Friday's shootout near Peabody High School in East Liberty.

The video shows one suspect crouching behind a car in the rear of the school on Beatty Street, while a second suspect is behind a stairwell. He then comes out and fires his gun directly at the guy who is shooting at him.

No one was hurt in the shooting. Students were dismissed from the school earlier in the day for the start of their Easter vacation.

Several teachers were inside the school. In fact, three teachers' cars sustained bullet holes. One vehicle had its rear window shot out. An eyewitness told KDKA-TV that he heard anywhere from 30 to 50 shots in the incident.

Police said both suspects were black. One had a large build and dreadlocks. He was wearing a white t-shirt and white sneakers. The second suspect had a thin build and wore a grey t-shirt.

Anyone with information on the gunmen is asked to call Pittsburgh Police.
