North Hills Burglar Sought

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police are investigating at least four overnight burglaries in and around Ross Township.

Ross Township Police believe the same suspect is responsible for all of the break-ins.

Surveillance video shows a man trying to break into a cash register at Kretzler's Tavern on Babcock Boulevard around 5:30 a.m.

"He couldn't get it open, so he decided to steal a bottle of liquor and leave," a manager said.

Ross Township Police believe the same person hit two other businesses in the area. He caught one employee off-guard at Pizza Roma on Perry Highway in McCandless Township.

"Somebody got here about 6:15 in the morning and bust the window here trying to get into the place, I guess tried to rob us," Adolpho Dachille, of Pizza Roma, said. "There was a guy working here – he kind of chased him away."

The suspect shattered the front door at Kretzler's Tavern and broke the cash register. A manager thinks the suspect had been eyeing the restaurant.

"It looked like it the way he kept his head down. He knew where the cameras were the whole time," the manager said.

Lupi's Famous Pizza was hit in addition to Pizza Hut on McKnight Road. The manager there could not disclose if anything was taken.

Police don't believe any money was taken from the four businesses.

The suspect is described as a white male, tall with a thin build, between ages 18 and 25.
