Thunderstorms Expected To Move Across Area

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- There is potential for a gusty thunderstorm or two in the western Pennsylvania region as we head through the afternoon and evening hours today.

According to KDKA meteorologist Dennis Bowman, the main issues today will be hail and high winds along with brief but heavy downpours and some dangerous lightning.

Intervals of clouds and sun will result in temperatures getting to 80 degrees or so for the high.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for several counties across the area.

The weather pattern will remain active tonight and right on through the approaching weekend with periods of showers and a gusty thunderstorm still possible.

After another 80 degree day on Friday, Bowman says weekend temperatures should hold to the mid-70s.

Stay with KDKA for the latest on the weather.
