Pirates Release Olsen/Pirates Farm Report

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pirates have decided to cut ties with lefty Scott Olsen plus another good night in the Pirates farm system.

The Pirates today released left-handed pitcher Scott Olsen. The announcement was made after Olsen's appearance with AAA Indianapolis. The lefty pitched two scoreless innings.

Olsen, 27, signed a one-year contract in the off-season worth $550,000 with a club option for 2012.
