Meek Ready To Return?

By: Mike Vukovcan
Atlanta Braves v Pittsburgh Pirates

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- It’s looking like relief pitcher Evan Meek is very close to returning to the Pirates bullpen.

Meek had another dominating outing last night for AAA Indianapolis.

The righty pitched one inning and struck out 3 batters.

With the way the Pirate setup guys have performed over the last week, Meek would be a welcome addition to the bullpen.

Indianapolis starter Justin Wilson turned in a solid performance. The lefty picked up his 4th win and lowered his season ERA to 2.27.

If the Pirates eventually trade Paul Maholm, it will be because they feel guys like Wilson and Rudy Owens are ready to pitch in the majors.
