Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pirates will open up a 3-game series with the Detroit Tigers without Pedro Alvarez in the starting lineup.

No official word on why he’s not starting but you’d have to think it’s an injury.

Manager Clint Hurdle is replacing Alvarez with Brandon Wood.
