ESPLEN (KDKA) –  A large tree crashed to the ground in a local neighborhood– crushing a car beneath it.

The residents on Radcliff Street in Esplen heard the crash as the large tree fell.

The tree took out power lines.  Neighbors say they knew the rotted tree would fall someday, but not at that moment.

Louise Hoover, the car’s owner said that when she opened up the door she was in shock and that she couldn’t believe it. The fireman stayed with her until everything was cleared up.

Willie Tresky Hoover’s neighbor said that they have been expecting it to fall down for the last 20 years.

The fire crews cleared the scene and had to cut the power lines from the tree.  The car suffered broken windows and some other damage.
