Want to land a job in the shale drilling industry? If you’re looking for a new job, the Marcellus Shale natural gas drilling industry is hiring! According to a new report from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry, the Marcellus Shale has accounted for 48,000 new jobs — 9,000 in the first quarter of 2011 alone — and the average wage is nearly $70,000. As of this past March, there were nearly 2,400 job postings for the Marcellus Shale industry. The Tri-County Oil & Gas Expo will host a job fair from 9am until 3pm on June 17th at the Greene County Fairgrounds.
