Water Slowly Being Restored In Weirton

WEIRTON, W. Va. (KDKA) -- The water problems are clearing up in Weirton, West Virginia.

Officials say water service has been restored to some areas.

However, eastern and northern parts of the city still don't have running water.

Those who do have water are asked to conserve and boil before using it.

"We expect to continually expand the availability of water throughout the system," said Gary DuFour, the city manager of Weirton. "In order to do that, we need to request cooperation of citizens and businesses in the use of water."

City officials say service will slowly be restored in the next few days, but it could be two weeks before all water service is restored.
