PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — AAA Paw Sox Manager Arnie Beyeler joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller on Sportsradio 93-7 The FAN to talk about the Pirates new catcher and the Paw Sox former catcher, Mike McKenry. 

The back-up catcher from the AAA Paw Sox joins the Pirates in light of the injuries at the position in recent weeks. 

When asked about the 26-year-old’s defensive abilities, Beyeler says McKenry is a strong, stocky player who has a big arm and good awareness of the field. 

Mike McKenry was said to be excited when hearing he would be joining the energized Buccos. 

Beyeler said McKenry is going to be missed, he is a good kid and everyone at the Paw Sox is happy for him to come up to the big leagues and think he will be helpful to the Pirates.
