Busy Weekend Could Mean Traffic Trouble For Pittsburgh

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - It's the beginning of an action-packed weekend that features something for everybody's taste.

Starting tonight concert goers and food lovers will be heading to Ribs On The River 2011 at the Trib Total Media Amphitheater at Station Square. There will be a performance by Ace Frehley tonight, Kenny Wayne Sheppard on Saturday and closing things out on Sunday is rock legend Leon. And that's just one of a number of events going on all over Pittsburgh.

Pop and R&B star Sade and special guest star John Legend brings their soulful sounds to the Consol Energy Center on Saturday.

Also Saturday, more than 50,000 people will be filling up Heinz Field for country music star Taylor Swift's concert. Several dozen tractor trailers are already parked outside the field for this major production.

To prevent a lot of downtown traffic due this jam-packed weekend Pittsburgh has planned, nearly all of PennDOT's projects will remain on hold except for the Liberty Bridge where some bridge painting will cause some single lane restrictions in that area.
