Man Shot Outside Downtown McDonald's

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police continue to investigate following a shooting Wednesday night outside a downtown fast food restaurant.

Emergency officials say a 29-year-old man was shot in the calf just before 10 p.m. outside of the McDonald's in the 500-block of Liberty Avenue at Stanwix Street.

Authorities say the victim went inside of the restaurant to ask for help.

He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital. There is no word on this condition, but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

According to initial reports, the suspect ran away toward Sixth Street.

Police describe the suspect as an African American male who was wearing a black tank top and tan work pants at the time of the incident.

Police believe he left the scene in a maroon-colored vehicle.
