PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — There is plenty going on in Pittsburgh this Fourth of July holiday and now the Pirates are joining in with a salute to members of military and veterans.

On July 4, the Pirates will take on the Houston Astros at PNC Park at 1:35 p.m.

In a pre-game ceremony, the Bucs will honor military members on the field. They are also offering complimentary tickets to active-duty military service personnel and veterans.

Team officials say active-duty military members and veterans can request up to four tickets per military identification in advance of the game or at PNC Park on the day of the game. Military organizations and military service organizations can also request complimentary group tickets to give to members.

Those in attendance at the game will also get a Stars and Stripes reversible Chuck Tanner floppy hat.

There are three ways military for military members to request tickets:

  • Download a request form at Pirates.com/USA
  • and send it in

  • Show their current military ID at the PNC Park Main Box Office
  • Report to the specially designated tables on Federal Street starting at 11:30 a.m. for ticket pick-up on the day of the game
