PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — The health care landscape in Western Pennsylvania is poised for a major restructuring and KDKA Radio’s Mike Pintek wants to know what that means for you.
Highmark Inc., the region’s largest health insurer, and West Penn Allegheny Health System, its second-largest health network, have announced a “capital partnership” worth $475 million. The deal would involve a $50 million upfront payment from Highmark to alleviate the financial woes of Bloomfield’s West Penn Hospital.
