PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) — In the not so distant future, could we be buying a ticket into space like we do for an airline?

As commercial companies scramble to find their own alternative to the space shuttle, the competition could cause a space boom that would rival the early days of the industry, says Michael Belfiore, author of Rocketeers: How a Visionary Band of Business Leaders, Engineers, and Pilots Is Boldly Privatizing Space.

KDKA-AM’s Larry Richert and John Shumway talk to Michael about the future of space flight and how Pittsburgh could play a role in the new space race.
