Fans Flock To Theaters For Final 'Harry Potter'

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Fans lined up for the final movie installment in the "Harry Potter" series Thursday night.

Fans flocked to local theaters to catch the midnight showing of "Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2."

Many of the people who went to the theaters have grown up with the books and movies. However, as the series comes to a close, so does a chapter in their lives.

"They're captivating. Her story is incredible," one woman said.

The story isn't just captivating for kids. Many adults are fans of the "Harry Potter" series and the messages it portrays.

"The struggle of good versus evil. The struggle of holding onto a friend, doing what is right," one man said.

It's more than just a great movie with fantastic special effects. They have inspired kids to read.

"I have never read huge books like that before 'Harry Potter,'" one girl said.

However, tonight marks the beginning of the end for the series and its fans.

"This is now over. Both are over so it's sad for us fans," one man said.
