"Idol" Hopeful Talks About His Experience So Far

PITTSBURGH (NEWSRADIO 1020 KDKA) -- North Allegheny junior Mike Cefalo wants to be the next American Idol.

He's braved early hours, traffic and standing in line for hours with thousands of other hopefuls for his chance at stardom.

"I'm very anxious to see if I'm going to move on forward with this," said Cefalo as he stood in line Friday morning at Heinz Field.

KDKA AM's Larry and John talked to him as he waited to enter Heinz Field and sing for his big break.

"It's completely A cappella, no music and no microphones," said Cefalo. "It's not timed, but there's a lot of people here, so we're guessing that everyone's going to be able to sing for about 15 to 30 seconds. If they like you, they'll let you sing a little bit more."
