Ward Releases First Public Statement About DUI

PITTSBURGH (KDKA)–Hines Ward has released his first public statement about his DUI arrest in Georgia nearly a week ago.

On his Facebook page, Ward wrote, “Fans – I appreciate all the love and support. Thank you! It means a lot to me. I have a great respect for the legal system and am leaving things in the hands of my attorney.”

According to a police report, Ward’s blood alcohol level was .128 when he was pulled over by officers outside Atlanta.

That is well over the legal limit. Ward’s agent says his client was not impaired.

Bottom line – Hines got caught drinking and driving. Man up and get it over with. This “not impaired” play is bs. Blew a .128 end of story.

I completely agree. what?…a guy cant go out and blow off some steam?? people around this city need to relax. hines ward is a super bowl mvp for gods sakes!! give the guy a break, seriously. there are much bigger issues to talk about. and dont even get me started about james harrison–guy was just being “real”. go james!! go hines!! go steelers!!

SO if someone in your family was killed by a drunk driver all you would say is “hmm hes only blowing off some steam”. Its not the fact that he was drunk its that he was driving while drunk.

What are you leaving in the hands of your Attorney? You were DRUNK! and DRIVING! Your fame will not get you out of this. Yet another Jersey I can no longer wear proudly. You can’t afford a Driver or Cab Hines? Dancing go to your head? What a joke. This is a statement?

I completely agree on both sides. .128 is drunk. He was blowing off steam but still chose to drive. Its right until he kills your family member! point blank… But it has taken a backseat to the antics of Mr. Harrison’s comments. I mean cmon James! Really?? You think you will actually get any respect from such a dedicated city and team by calling them out?!? Wow.. Your a bad man but even a worse person for doing that. Shut the hell up and do your job and you might be getting paid like Ben is. But no instead, you run your chatter box and reveal your a punk. I like your smash mouth style but just learn to get your head outta your own ass support your team/city, and do your damn job son! Well I will say what everyone else is, this needs to end, football needs to start cause I want a reason to drink cold beer for 4 hours straight and go into work with no voice on monday morning.. GO STILLERS!!!!
