SHENANGO TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – Police in Lawrence County are looking into a possible child luring attempt.

According to police, the incident happened around 6:40 p.m. on Thursday in Shenango Township.

A white male driving a 1980s Buick or Cadillac-style car allegedly pulled up alongside three young girls near Shenango High School.

“The three girls were walking back from Shenango High School towards the baseball field from the Snack Shack which would be like the concession stand,” Shenango Township Police Officer Ben Smartwinski said.

“On their way there, a late model burgundy or possible dark red-colored vehicle, four-door approached them with a white male driver.”

The man allegedly asked the girls to help him look for his lost dog.

The girls ran back to their parents, who were watching a baseball game nearby.

The suspect is described as being in his late 30s with short, dark hair, a thin build and a beard or a mustache.

Anyone with information is asked to call Shenango Township Police at (724)-654-2243.
