Mon Incline Out Of Service

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — The Port Authority says the Mon Incline is out of service.

The temporary disruption is because of the heat.

According to officials, some of the electronic controls were overheating.

The Port Authority has made buses available to take riders between stations.

There’s no word on when service will resume.

Earlier this afternoon, the incline was briefly stuck with people on board.

I know it’s not true but it seems the Mon Incline is out of service more than not. I guess it’s not too hard to understand why when the Port Authority is involved. It seems that everything they touch turns into a travesty!

It wasn’t that brief. It was at least 20 minutes in 95 degree temperatures and very high humidity. I was on it. It was starting to get a little scary when they reversed the cable and pulled us up. There were no apologies and no refunds. i was dripping wet from sweating as were all the passengers. You would think there would be a plan for getting passengers out when there are heat warnings. It was the only bad moment I had visiting Pittsburgh as the rest of my trip was wonderful. the Port Authority should be better prepared for this.
