The Penn-Ohio All-Star Classic will be the last high school game for 35 seniors, many of them representing Beaver County programs.
Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pitt Panthers have received a verbal commitment from a cornerback from the state of Maryland.
Pomfret (Md.) McDonough cornerback Marchez Coates gave the Panthers a verbal commitment last night.
Coates, 5’11″ 172, earned an offer from Pitt after working out at the Panthers’ prospect camp in June.
Coates is rated as a 3-star recruit by Rivals.com but hasn’t received much attention. Aside from Pitt, the only other schools to offer him were Eastern Michigan and Robert Morris.
Coates is the third defensive back to commit to the Panthers for this recruiting class.
Coates is also Graham’s first recruit from the state of Maryland.
Here’s the breakdown of their 11 commitments according to states:
Pennsylvania: 5 (Williams, Park, Geter, Coles, Conwell)
Ohio: 4 (Cook, Davis, Davis, Hilliard)
Maryland: 1 (Coates)
