Friday's Steeler Training Camp News
PITTSBURGH (KDKA)- Here's a rundown of what's taken place at Steelers Training Camp today. Check back because I'll update this as Steelers news happens.
Friday's Steeler Camp News:
*QB Ben Roethlisberger met with the media and free agent WR Plaxico Burress was a hot topic. Roethlisberger said that he's been in contact with Burress and is lobbying him to return to the Steelers. QB Byron Leftwich, who is close friends with Burress, is also talking to Burress.
*RB Rashard Mendenhall spoke today but refused to talk about his Twitter comments.
*DE Aaron Smith says he's fully healthy and will accept whatever role Mike Tomlin decides on for him. Right now, Smith is listed as the Steelers starter at defensive end.
*LB James Harrison admitted his comments were inappropriate and that he was speaking out of anger and frustration. Harrison went on to say that he has cleared the air with Roethlisberger and Mendenhall.
*OL coach Sean Kugler said that Ramon Foster and Doug Legursky will battle for the right guard position.
*WR Hines Ward says he hasn't heard from league, and neither Mike Tomlin nor Art Rooney have spoken to him about his arrest.
