Willie Parker Heading To UFL

By: Mike Vukovcan

Pittsburgh (KDKA)- Willie Parker will be playing football in 2011 but it won’t be in the NFL.

The former Steeler running back announced on his Facebook page that he’ll be running the ball in the UFL this year for the Virginia Destroyers.

Parker also said that he still hopes to play again in the NFL.

Parker was publicly hoping to the return to the Steelers this season but never received an offer from them.

“Fast Willie” played six seasons for the Steelers before trying out for the Washington Redskins.

It’s highly unlikely that Parker will ever play again in the NFL.

Thats a shame Willie Parker was and excellent athlete off and on the field. It just took the right Offensive line and right Offensive coordinator to make him shine. i think the steelers should have picked him up again!

So now at least two NFL teams don’t want him but you still think he can play for your Stillers? What a typical dufus Steeler fan you are.

Hmmm….must be a staunch Browns fan

Great journalism here! Why did the writer feel the need to offer his opinion that it is highly unlikely Willie Parker will ever play in the NFL again?
