PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Post-Gazette Steelers Beat Writer Ed Bouchette joined Seibel, Starkey and Miller to talk about today’s players’ vote to ratify the CBA and answers questions the guys have about the Steelers’ current depth chart.
One significant part of the new CBA is that players will be subjected to blood tests in order to curtail the use of performance enhancing substances across the league. Ed tells us a little bit about how that testing will work.
Ed also talked about the 15 players who have been unable to practice because of the new rules in the CBA holding them out as free agent signees.
When it comes to some of the depth on this years team, Ed said he could see one or two of the new wide receiver’s on the roster making the team, and sees the team keeping four running backs. One of the biggest concerns though, is some of the players sidelined with injuries including James Harrison, Troy Polamalu, Emmanuel Sanders and Chris Kemoeatu.
We wrapped things up with Ed talking about the quarterback situation, and which of the three backups will make the team.
