Reporting Ralph Iannotti

BUTLER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — The Butler County Animal Control Officer told KDKA-TV a Butler Township man will be cited next week for harboring a dangerous dog.

Brian Hindman had four adult pit bulls and seven pit bull puppies in his home, violating a township ordinance which allows only three dogs per household.

Hindman is facing charges after one of his pit bulls attacked a neighbor’s Chihuahua last week and mauled her. The dog, named Daisy, had to be put down.

At the time of the attack, Daisy’s owner, 10-year old Joey Hershberger, was walking her near his home.

“I couldn’t move because I was in shock and then the pit bull came running after Daisy and I tried to bend down to get Daisy, but the pit bull got her, like a chew toy, and it was horrible,” he recalled.

“My son could have lost his life over this, it was my dog, but it could have been my son,” Janine Hershberger, the boy’s mother, said.

KDKA’s Ralph Iannotti tried to talk to Hindman Friday but, someone answering his door said he had no comment.

Police sources say Hindman was cited back in 2009 after two of his pit bulls were roaming free in the neighborhood.

Complete and utter idiocy. Keep your vicious dogs restrained.

    • Anonymous

she did not let the dog roam the streets, if you listen to the video the lady contradicts herself she says they roam but then she says they are locked in cages all day? um how are they roaming the streets if they are in cages, the dog was loose in the house and a contractor laying carpet left the door open and the dog got out, it was an accident

      • Anonymous

no i didn’t ….All the neighbors on this road had enough so they are all gonna take pics for now on and send them in!!

      • Anonymous

good do that i would love to see the pics, are you going to be taking pics of the other neighbors dogs that are loose too? and are you going to call the media and dog catcher on them too

      • anonymous

But the dog also attacked 2 other neighbors dogs Fortunately those 2 weren’t deadly. Then after the deadly attack happened a bunch of them got loose and chased the kids up the street.

      • Anonymous

it was 8 week old pit/lab puppies that ran after the kids to play dont make it sound like it was another possible attack

      • Anonymous

Really well I’m glad you made that clear since they are selling the puppies as Pittbulls!!! Good to know!!

      • Anonymous

LOL…i’m not about attention!! These people who puppy mill but also lie about their dogs and sell them as real Pittbulls are really the one’s that have been waiting for the attention!!! Oh please do not make me tell you all things that could make these 2 loose their kids!! Keep on putting me and my son down and the dirty laundry will be out!!!

      • Anonymous

ok, them fostering another dog that has puppies isnt them being a backyard breeder, are you really that stupid, really! and they are advertised as pit mix puppies, because the mom is a pit and they dont know what the dad is but they dont even look like pits they look like pure black labs, and yes there is an adoption fee for the dogs guess what brian and tina dont get that money, it goes to the rescue group that the dog and puppies belong to, so how is that being backyard breeders?

      • anonymous

these mght not be their litter but this uisnt the first or second or even 3rd litter in this home, so yes back yard breeders.

      • Anonymous

so 4 litters of puppies in 8 YEARS in a backyard Breeder?…Why don’t you go down to Bessemer and talk to the guys that ALWAYS has pups…HE IS A PUPPY MILL!!…i’m sure he will even tell you that 4 litters in 8 years is not a backyard breeder

      • Anonymous

funny everyone hates pitts but labs are the most aggressive dogs, maybe we should start forcing people to put their labs down too!

        http://thetruthaboutpitbulls.blogspot.com/2010/08/there-are-three-kinds-of-lies-lies.html

      • anonymous

ya 4 litters in 8 yrs is a back yard breeder and not a very responsible dog owner, have you looked @ humane soc lately! fix your dogs and there wouldnt be 4 litters!!!!!

    • Anonymous

if another dog chases my kid then yes I may!!! They are caged up all the time so what do you expect them to do if they get loose? Come on this is going no where the dog got loose ( and most of the interview wasn’t on the tv) Their dog killed my dog end of discussion…So she tells people dirty laundtry about me hers is about to be exposed!!!! I am not a bad person nor are my kids!! Also her and Brian were having problems before this so all of her “so called” friends must not know much about her!!

      • angie

hopefully both of those 2 exs take the kids outa there too and the judge takes the dogs.

      • Anonymous

the dogs have never attacked a person ever!!!!!! the only ones that ever ran after your kid was 8 week old puppies trying to play!!! its like the one person said earlier you are all about attention!! please quick lets call the news and tell them how puppies tried to play with your kids, im sure that would make a great story too

    • peopleareignorant

OMG it sounds like AN ACCIDENT . . . SOMEONE working in the house accidentally left the DOOR OPEN . . . UGH!!!!!!!!!!!

      • Anonymous

Not the first time these dogs got loose though is the point!!! If they knew workers were gonna be in and out of the house the dog should have been restrained not roaming especially with the history!!!! And the kids in that neighborhood used to be able to ride their bikes and play freely…..Not the case anymore the parents are too afraid to let them do so!!!!!

    • Anonymous

heh thats funny last time i walked into a home that had a chihuahua there the dog tried ripping my ankles to shreds anytime i walk into a home with a pitbull the dogs love me to death! just saying

      • JANINE

Funny then you never met my dog who ran to the front door and rolled over on her back for anyone stranger to rub her belly!! You werent in my house or know my dog that was killed

    • Concerned city dweller

Butler is being over run with pit bulls. Seriously, drive down a couple of the main streets in Butler during the day, and you are almost guaranteed to see one young adult walking a pit bull. It is only a matter of time until a child is mauled or even worse, killed. There needs to be a ban on known aggressive dog breeds, at least in the city. Is the maiming or death of a child really what it’s going to take to open everyone’s eyes?

    • Anonymous

This country needs to either ban or severely regulate pit bulls and other dangerous dogs like they do in Europe. In Germany if your pitbull can’t pass a test they set up it is taken away and put down. They need to start charging the owners for any crimes these animals do.

  • Margie

It still doesn’t solve the problem the dog needs to be put down

    • Anonymous

I own a Rott. They have the same rep as a pitbull. I can not get decent insurance because of her, she is not dog, food or people agressive, but you never ever hear of german shepards, labs, or smaller dogs biting people and it happens all the time. Personally I am sick of just hearing about pitbulls. Its not the breed, its the freaking owners. People need to get a grip, they are a dog that needs lots of love and care, and socializing when they are pups. Just like any other type of dog!

      • Charles

Wrong. A woman in Donora who raised 3 pitbulls and gave them everything they wanted was killed when all 3 turned on her. These dogs were bred for fighting and it’s in their blood no matter how you treat them.

      • Anonymous

amen!!! i had a poodle killed by another poodle and no one did or said anything just blew it off, if a german shepard attacks something defending its yard and family they are good dogs, but this pittbull attacked another dog defending its family then its a crime

      • Anonymous

aww really i love rotties i had 2 before i got a pit! its not the breeds fault its the owener!

      • anonymous

The Pittbull was not defending its family it was an innocent child walking his dog on a leash and the Pitt Bull attacked his dog!!!!! And yes I agree it is all about the owner and the way they are raised!!!!!!

      • Anonymous

The point is that this isn’t the first time this dog has attacked or has got loose!!! Doesn’t matter if it is a Pitt or not!!!

    • Carrie C.

I saw where someone saying owning a pitbull is stupid? how about you are the misinformed one! do you carry your racism to the rest of the world and if you do, you are the one I feel sorry for!!!

These dogs are not to blame!! PERIOD! HOW about you are stupid for having such a closed mind!

Get over yourself !!! this happened, its in the past and things are being done to rectify the situation or do I need to speak in more plain terms!!!

I have friends with PIts, and they are the best dogs, I do not even fear my children being around them!

    • Anonymous

She will be when Animal Control and the Judge say so. She would have been put down the next day but someone called Animal Control and nothing can be done till after the hearing so ..THANK YOU TO WHOEVER CALLED ANIMAL CONTROL BECAUSE YOU GAVE THE DOG LONGER TO LIVE!

    • Tracy

      I agree !!!

    • Anonymous

it is being put down once the judge says its ok

      • dog owner

and to talk about your dog as an it just shows she was just used for breeeding not as an actual pet

      • Tina

EXCUSE ME…WHOEVER ANONYMOUS IS IS NOT THE DOG OWNER…MY HUSBAND IS SO WE ARE NOT THE ONES THAT CALLED THE DOG AN “IT”…please get your story strait before you post a reply…THANK YOU!

  • louann

i personally know this dog, yes she is animal aggressive from being attacked herself as a pup, she is however not people aggressive, the only reason this was on news is because of breed, yes she should have been restrained on lease or chain and im not making excuses she should be put down but to know the dog she was wonderful when i seen her.

    • Anonymous

I called the news because my dog is gone now and my 10 year old son had to witness this attack!! I don’t care what kind of dog it was it should not of happened and now my son has to go to couseling over this!! I wish people had a heart instead of defending these deadly animals!!

      • Kaytee Kaylovespitbulls

be upset at the situation for this particular dog, not the breed. my neighbors have 2 chis and they are viscous, biting anyone who enters their yard. it is heartbreaking for you and your family, especially your son.. i cant imagine witnessing that. my \heart really hurts for you.. but i am a networker and work heavily in the rescue of pitbulls and your case and experience with this dog doesnt mirror the rest of the breed. ill be praying for you and your son.

      • louann

i also know you and im in no way saying its rght i agree harley should have been no where outside without a leash or chain and i feel horrible that your family is going through this, i lived there for 3 yrs with these dogs and they never showed any aggression towards people and harley was never allowed outside, i dont know about the whole carpet thing but if thats true she should have been put somewhere knowing the doors would be open and closed, i no longer speak to him. i do have to say as much as i love the breed i believe when u have a male and female in house atleast 1 or more should be fixed to stop all the breeding. like i said before she should be put down and its ashame that this had to happen because to know that dog is to love her.

      • christine

get over yourself if you really cared you wouldnt of waited a week to call, you just wanted your 30 seconds of fame, people like you make me sick, you have no rights being a dog owner or a parent quit drinking your beer everyday and watch your kids and your dog and maybe it wouldnt of happened, that or how about dont sit and talk bad about my friend and her dogs when she is trying to do what is right and feels bad enough about what happened

      • Anonymous

Hey Christine I didn’t want fame!! I called when it happened and they only came over when they did. I don’t think you want to open up anymore bag of worms sweetheart!! I do watch my kids!!! My son has every right to walk my dog at 11 am and not have to worry about a pitt bull attacking his dog which was on a leash!!! Also * of her dogs got loose 5 days later and chased my son. So maybe get YOUR facts straight get over YOURSELF and trust me don’t open up a can of worms cuz you will not be happy with out come Thanks!!

      • Anonymous

One more thing Christine…If I’m so bad then why have I watched her children numerous times??? She knows I drink and didn’t have a problem with it so why should you? This is about my dog being killed not anything else!!!

      • margie

christine why would you be defending you must be jealous of neen that her kids are always clean and dressed properly thats had nothing to do with this evenif she kept her dog tied to the door it was restrained theirs wasn.t big deal she likes to drink beer she is no slush this is something joey should not of witnessed he had everyright to be where he was the pitt didn.t It seems neen must of told you off once or twice but by your comment I can tell you are not a person I could like maybe you and you r friend should move far far away so you will not be a threat to neighbors

      • christine

ok, one she has nothing to do with what i said this is me talking not her, i have met you a few times and you were drunk everytime and told me everytime how you are an alcoholic, ive watched your boyfriend drive up and down the road drunk on his riding lawn mower throwing beer cans everywhere so yea thats a problem but u dont see her running to your husband causing you problems or calling the police on you or what not, and it was all about the fame, you called the dog catcher and you were handling it civilly with her she was gonna put her dog down that night but shes not allowed by law she has to guarantee it, she is getting rid of the other female she has just for you as well plus the mom and puppies she is fostering for the rescue group will be gone too, and she flat out told you she would pay the vet bill and you told her no but she still insisted, and is going to pay it she feels bad for what happened and is trying to make it as right as possible and you are doing everything you can to keep her from righting it, and its funny you called the news crew the night it happened, yet you sent her text after text telling her how you knew it was an accident and how you would never sue her or anything cuz you wouldnt want to hurt her or make the situation worse but you couldnt tell her you did make the situation worse by calling the media for no reason when the problem is handled

      • christine

i am completely and totally sorry your dog died and im so sorry your child had to see it no child ever should have to see that and i understand the pain and everything else please dont think im trying to say that its ok that your dog died because i am not, but you know her dogs, you let your kid play over there, and everything else, i just dont understand why when you were trying to handle everything with her and she was trying to take care of the problem why you had to make the situation worse esp when you know they are so upset and feel so bad about what happened and you even said yourself you knew it was an accident, so why make it seem so much worse than what it is, like shes a bad pet owner or that the dogs are bad or that it was intentional

      • Anonymous

She offered to pay with her child support!! He should pay not her!!! That dog was NEVER raoming wihen my kids and I were there!!! I let her know I called on weds cuz there was no one home and 8 of them chased my son!!! There is a problem!!!! Now I didn’t put her dirty laundry up cuz that is sooo immature so enough is enough!!! This is about my dog getting killed and my son witnessing it nothing else so Tina has my number she can give it to who ever and you can fight with me over the phone or she can or even her daughter!!! They were wrong not me!!

      • Anonymous

Christine I was only at her house 1 time when she had people over so don’t no what your talking about I’m always drunk!!! Also this happened friday afternoon and yes she said she was putting the dog down THAT night…but late Saturday afternoon the dog was still there!!! See where I’m coming from I was nice but don’t enjoy being lied to and you are also being lied to!!!

      • Tracy

Anonymous , You are absolutely right. Pit Bulls are very aggressive dogs. I feel you had every right to contact the media and raise awareness of this incident. It’s a known fact that these dogs are aggressive. It’s irrelevant if this pit bull is not people aggressive. It’s obviously aggressive and should be contained. There are records indicating that the owner was cited in 2009 for letting his animals roam free. Whoever this owner is…..is irresponsible and does not deserve to own a dog.

      • Anonymous

Thank you Tracy You must of paid attention to the news not like the others!!

    • Anonymous

Then she should have been put down a long time ago!

      • Anonymous

        Soooo true!!!

  • Anonymous

The reason I put it on the news is because my son had to witness my dog being chewed up by this dog!!! If it was any other dog that did this I still would of called!!! A child should be able to walk their dog without witnessing it being attacked…My son now has to go to couseling over all this. My dog was wondergul also and she is gone!!!

    • Anonymous

My heart aches for you and your son.. A pit attacked my two dogs several years ago, and I am still not over the shock and horror of it. PA and local laws state dogs must be under control at all times, but many people don’t care about the danger they pose. Your neighbor sounds like an idiot – backyard breeder of pits. Allowing intact male pits, or any dog. to roam the neighborhood. I hope the law whacks him good.

      • Anonymous

        Thank you soo much!!

      • Anonymous

no his dogs where inside a contractor laying carpet in her house left the door open and she got out, it was a total accident, you dont know the whole story, and yes a owner should have complete control of their dog and she knows it was her fault n they are paying the bills and putting the dog down they take full responsibility for their dogs actions but they werent mean dogs and they arent back yard breeders and they were just letting the dog roam

  • Anonymous

Don’t blame the dog blame the owner. If it was my dog or cat that got mauled I would make sure the owner spent some time in jail and if justice failed I would prob take matters into my own hands because thats bs.

    • peopleareignorant

First of all, WHY is ok that cat owners let their cats run the streets and pee all over other peoples properties??? IT ISN’T!!!!!!!!!! If you cat got killed then it’s YOUR FAULT for letting it roam free . . .

Whoever said that labs were the most aggressive really needs to do some research as he/sheis a complete uneducated idiot!

      • Anonymous

The dog should of been controlled since the owner NEW people were in and out!!! Owner is at fault!!

      • Tammy

the owner admitted to being at fault and things were in the process of being taken care of when this all exploded and the media was brought in..she has made that comment numerous times

      • Anonymous

i dont believe i am, read the damn website and see for your damn self

      • Anonymous

Tammy she doesn’t beleive she is at fault haha

      • Tammy

um if she dosen’t think she’s at fault why has there been numerous posted (i’m assuming from her) stating that it WAS her fault and she offered to pay?…I’m sorry but that sounds like shes taking the blame for her actions

      • JANINE

Sorry you are worried about your Rabbits but really I’m not the only person on this street with cats!! But I do appreciate your comment Lisa’s mom :0)

  • Bob Barker

I thought this would all be over after Michael Vick went to prison

    • Bob Rules

      Hilarious

  • Gary Ray

The big problem is the lack of respect for the leash law,and know proper fencing.

  • Anonymous

Why blame the dog its the idiot owner thats the problem!!

    • Amanda

thank u not all pits are bad

  • Anonymous

not always, ive seen a 3 month old pitt with a highly responsible owner be a completely aggressive dog.

  • Kaytee Kaylovespitbulls

oh come on. theres enough false labels for the bully breeds. that doesnt help throwig your dog out there like that. the pit is being put down and its a shame bc he was having carpet installed and the carpet installer had the door open and thats how the dog got out. its just all a big shame.

    • Kaytee Kaylovespitbulls

i wish the guy had a proper fence… ive been to his house he isnt a bad guy he helped rescue a mamma pit down for euthanization while pregnant and im adopting one of the puppies. its horrible that poor little dog died and i dont understand why as his dog was fine with 7 little puppies and a cat running around. it is only fair he gets put down, just depressed this had to ever happen for both parties involved. hopefully he will have a fence installed.. but after this he apparently isnt getting another dog again.

    • Anonymous

I have apologize non-stop and offered to pay the vet…I do feel terrible about what happened but one small terrible act got turned into a media circus over a mistake

      • Anonymous

its not a media circus they had to be called butler animal control or the police were not acting on this to prevent another incident in which a few days later five of the dogs were out chasing kids either you are using your orafice or hand or your husband is with these authoritys in butler cause any where selse it would of ended on the day of the attack and this so called media circus that you say would not of happen

      • katie

Then pay the vet bill and put the dog down already!!!! And maybe not have any animals sounds like the house if full to begin with.

you are so wrong if most dogs get out they just run around they don.t run out to the street and grab another dog and start throwing it around like a dog toy jo0ey could of been next if the neighbor would not of had him drop the lead the dog is mean and was not controlled properly and this is not the first time there was probalems before and the way they cage them and feed them is only making them more aggressive the dog has to be put down due to the owner neglegence

    • Anonymous

Point is the dog should not have left the yard in the first place. I have a very protective german shepherd and I am always with him outside. He is always chained or on a leash. When he is chained he is on a run and we play fetch or he goes in his pool. Our neighbors have dogs and children and if anything would ever happen I would never forgive myself. He is trained not to leave the yard but there is always someone with him at all times because he is a DOG! Anything can happen and its the responsible thing to do! If a dog shows aggression to other animals it can at any time without warning turn on its owner, children or neighbors. Even if its the most friendly dog in the world! I have bred shepherds and grew up with them all my life and I have seen what they can do. Some are more aggressive than others but you need to know your animal and be responsible!

  • Kaytee Kaylovespitbulls

    here here. agreed.

  • Anonymous

The dog escaped out the door when workmen left it unlatched. The dog is being put down when animal control and the judge say we can. And the dog being a Pit is why all this hype is going on…if it wasn’t then the breed wouldn’t have been mentioned on the news. She has NEVER attacked a person and just so everyone knows..THE ATTACK WAS A WEEK AGO!…and it was brought to my attention that there was a comment made on the news about my dogs running the neighborhood but you can’t understand why we have them because they are always caged up….so I guess tying your “beloved” family pet to the back door all the time is better?

    • Anonymous

omg yea her dogs are so mean and so aggressive that my two year old plays with them all the time, no def not mean dogs, they just dont like strange animals which alot of dogs dont, its not the breed and its not the owner, and yea she really loved that dog so much man she left it tied up all day in the heat on a short leash where it couldnt move yet the owner of the pit is wrong

      • Anonymous

        total bull!!

  • Anonymous

Our neighbor’s kid got bit by the other neighbor’s Chihuahua and nothing was said but a Pit does something wrong and it’s all over the news…I have been bitten 3 times by dogs…Pomeranian,Miniature Collie and a Border Collie

    • margie

are you a idiot or what there is a BIG difference between a pit bite and a chihuahua bite one takes a nip out of you the other takes a chunk plus hits vessels their jaws are made to clap some of you people need to be bit by one then talk

    • Anonymous

really because I almost lost my sight from the border collie…there is no difference in dog bites…I had a family member mauled by a chihuahua and ended up having reconstructive surgery on her face so get off your soap box

    • Anonymous

Did they rip you apart and leave you for dead?

    • Seeking balance

Ok, we’re talking about something KILLING another animal. Sorry, a bite is one thing, but shaking until DEAD is another all together. If you have dogs, CONTROL THEM. If you can’t/don’t control them, then DON’T HAVE THEM.

btw: I have 3 dogs, but if they got out of my fence and killed another animal or bit someone, I’d expect to lose them!

  • Charles

i used to live on Mt Washington. I was attacked by a rot once. In addition, many pitbulls being walked by their owners who LOVE the so called intimidation factor when they walked by. No problems here. After the rot attack, I was prepared for any situation whatsoever. II won’t tell you how.

  • Virgil Hemosphere

You stupid sheep– you’ll put a person in state prison for 2 years for selling a gram of heroin; you’ll put a person in jail for a year for possessing a firearm without a license. But the owner of the pit bull will get a fine and maybe probation. He should be in jail. More people are injured by dogs than guns. But you sheep are too stupid to realize this.

    • Tracy

Well Said……..Your so right Virgil !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anonymous

!st of all I don’t think keeping your PET caged all the time makes for a family pet!! 2nd The reporter is the one who called the sheriff and found out about the pets in 2009 funning the neighborhood!!! 3rd 5 days after my dog got mauled my son got chased by8 Pittbulls yep the same owner who owns the 1 that killed my dog!!! So the whole neighborhood is scared and had enough!!! If you can’t control your animals DON’T HAVE them!!!

    • Anonymous

Maybe all their dogs should be TIED TO THEIR BACK DOOR LIKE YOU DID WITH YOURS Nice way to treat a “BELOVED” pet Just be glad I didnt know about that before or I would have called the dog catcher on you Maybe I will call channel 2 news and give them the whole story Question Did your kid watch the vet put the dog down? WAS HE IN THE SAME ROOM?

      • Anonymous

yes my SON did and yes he was in the same room!!!! I think you should call channel 2 cuz you really have no idea the truth. Animal control said they are alowed 3 dogs not 8!!! its the law!!!! She wasn’t ALWAYS tied up and people that come to my house no that!!! What ever your problem is you need to go on with your life!!! You are obviously trouble!!! I said nothing bad about them as a matter of fact I think I was nothing but nice to them ALWAYS!!!! I will not be as low as you and put her dirty laudry out here !!! You make me sick!!

      • Anonymous

I SUGGEST YOU WATCH YOUR MOUTH WITH MY MOTHER!!!…
WHY DIDN’T YOU BOTHER TO TELL THE NEWS THAT YOU KEPT YOU DOG TIED TO THE BACK DOOR ALL THE TIME?!!…AND HAVING HIM WATCH HER BE PUT DOWN IS JUST AS TRAUMATIC AS THE ATTACK!

      • Anonymous

yes 3 dogs, but they have a license to have the rest as fosters, there is a difference between pets and foster you idiot, and yes why would you make your child watch him be put down, thats no ones fault but your own

      • Anonymous

but at least her dog was under control. The fact is that our children are not able to play outside in their own neighborhood because they have dogs (Pitbulls or not) that have gotten out twice now within a week. Once with a deadly outcome and second with a close call. After witnessing the Pitbull killing his dog,, I’m sure the 10 yr old saw those dogs coming after him, and was scared for his life. I’m not quite sure why there is so much turmoil here. The law needs to do something about it.

    • Anonymous

lol again before you post get the facts!!! They are being charged for the dogs they do not have a liscence to foster!!! If the did they would not be being charged for having 11 dogs when they are only alowed 3…Skyler you really nedd to take you own advise and maybe treat your mom with respect more often!!!

Janine its not worth working yourself or family up by replying to childish people there is a thing called karma and it will come back and bite them. Hopefully you and your neighbors all get together and have a petion like guy above stated and be in the court when the hearing is held. demand they remove all of the dogs from the home, and if your house or children are being messed with you call the cops everytime it happens, i used to have neighbors like them and was so glad when the moved. and i agree i would take pictures everytime those dogs are out or loose there is no excuse for poor dog ownership.

      • Anonymous

Thank you very much… I just am very hurt that she let her family and friends talk so bad about me when I was nothing but good to them. But you are right KARMA

      • Tammie

TO THE IGNORANT PERSON WHO TYPED “Labs are more aggressive than pit bulls” needs to google that ignorant, uneducated statement.

      • Anonymous
      • responsibleowner

how about posting a web site MORE than one website and espeically NOT one in favor of pit bulls. Here’s one for you:

        http://www.petsdo.com/blog/top-ten-10-most-dangerous-dog-breeds
        and another . . .

        http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2010/11/03/most-dangerous-dog-breeds.html

        and another . . .

        http://www.dogs-names.net/dangerous-dog-breeds.html

My point, DON’T get your information from just ONE website where YOU could have made up.

      • Anonymous

they are not pitbull favorable they are all dog favorable, read the actual site, in fact this is the very last thing on the page

After reviewing this blog post and its many examples, now you know why pit bulls — responsible for roughly 50% of all fatal attacks — score better than Lassie. I did not come to this conclusion quickly. I spent about a year researching the ATTS. In addition to reading every ATTS related thread on every pit bull forum on the internet, I also looked into other breed forums. I found nothing on the other breed forums that even remotely resembled the machinations of the pit bull apologia.

Anyone one with a high school education should be able to see the fallibilities of the ATTS. Yet a few of the gifted and educated, some with advanced degrees still promote the ATTS as a test with “scientific” value.

      • MsCynic

Sorry but arguing the ATTS test is a good judge of character is irresponsible at best! The ATTS test does not (at any point) test for dog on dog aggression, so not relevant for this discussion whatsoever. Plus, it’s a temperament test used for Schutzhund (police/protection) trained dogs – this is not a test that your average dog WOULD pass. Aggression towards and protecting you from a ‘threatening’ stranger is encouraged!

I’m not biased against Pits, but I am informed about the test – my dog just took it in preparation for Schutzhund competition.

wow i own a lab and she is not agressive or mean she barks thats it she wouldnt hurt a fly for goodness sakes this has nothing to to about labs this is about daisy she is gone the other dog is still alive when tina said she would have it down that day when daisy was attaked ya i was there i watched it happen it wasnt pretty ya so go ahead and say labs are mean dogs well than u must own some because THEY ARE MEAN LIKE YOU!!!!!! wow people just wow

      • ANONYMUS

THE POINT IS THE DOG ATTACKED ANOTHER DOG THAT WAS ON A LEASH BEING HELD BY A CHILD AND THAT CHILD WATCHED IT AND THE NEIGHBORHOOD IS AND HAS BEEN SCARED FOR QUIET AWHILE OF THESE DOGS, THERE ARE 11 DOGS IN THAT HOME THE LAW STATES 3, U DONT FOSTER MORE DOGS WHEN U HAVE 3 ALREADY, AND THE FACT THAT THE DOG WAS ANIMAL AGGRESSIVE MAKES IT WORSE AND WHO KNOWS IF THE OTHER 2 (NOT INCLUDING THE FOSTER) ARE ANIMAL AGGRESSIVE OR PEOPLE AGGRESSIVE FOR THAT MATTER, IF YOUR GONNA OWN A DOG THAT HAS AGGRESSIVE TRAITS YOU DONT OWN IT IN A NEIGHBORHOOD WHERE THERE ARE CHILDREN AND OTHER ANIMALS MOVE TO THE COUNTRY. AND I SEEN ABOVE THEY OFFERED TO PAY FOR THE VET BILLS WHAT ABOUT THIS LITTLE BOY SEEING THE OTHER DOGS (PITS OR NOT) HE WILL BE SCARED FOR ALONG TIME. THEY SHOULD BE MADE TO REMOVE ALL DOGS FROM THE HOME. AND SEEN ABOVE THEY WERE SAYING 4 LITTERS IN 8YRS ISNT A BACK YARD BREEDER, DO THEY HAVE A BREEDERS LICENSE? PROB NOT WHICH DOES MAKE THEM BACK YARD BREEDERS, WHEN THOSE DOGS R BRED OVER AND OVER AGAIN MOSTLY INNER BRED YOU GET WHAT U BREED. FIX YOUR DOGS BEFORE THEY BREED. THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A CONTRACTOR THERE BUT THATS NO EXCUSE FOR POOR OWNERSHIP OF AN AGGRESSIVE DOG. AS FAR AS ALL THE POSTS SAYING LADY WITH DOG IS A DRUNK AND THE OTHERS ARE DRUGGIES WELL AS YOU SEE FROM WHICH POSTS HAVE BEEN REMOVED THE LADY THAT SUPPOSEDLY IS A DRUNK HASNT REMOVED ANY POSTS ABOUT HER DRINKING GUILTY PEOPLE HIDE STUFF.

      • Anonymous

Hmmm I am taking it that Annonymous must be Daisy’s owner looking for sympathy?

      • ANONYMOUS

NO ACTUALLY NOT, IM FRIENDS WITH SOMEONE THAT HAS A PIT BRED BY HINDMANS

      • Anonymous

And is that Pit animal agressive or mean?

      • PAM S

        NO

      • PAM S

YEP ME, I DROVE OVER AN HOUR YEARS AGO TO GET MY BIG BOY, HE IS THE BEST DOG I HAVE EVER OWNED, I CANT ACCOUNT FOR THE OTHER DOGS HE OWNS BUT WHEN I PICKED MY PUP ,ONLY THE PUPS WERE OUTSIDE WITH THE LADY AND GUY AND THEY BOTH APPEARED TO BE RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERS, I PAID $400.00 FOR MY GUY WITHOUT PAPERS AND IM SORRY BUT THATS THE BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT. MY DOG SHOWS NO AGGRESSION WHAT SO EVER.

      • PitLover

Very nice to hear not all Pits are bad! THank You!

      • PAM S

NOPE THEY ARENT ALL MEAN , LOVE MY BIG GUY

      • PAM S

JANINE, AS YOUVE SEEN ON HERE I OWN A PIT PUP THAT CAME FROM ONE OF THE LITTERS OF HINDMANS, MY PUP IS IN NO WAY MEAN OR AGGRESSIVE, I FEEL BAD THAT YOUR SON HAD TO WITNESS SOMETHING SO HORRIBLE BUT ONE ANIMAL AGGRESSIVE DOG DOESNT MAKE THEM ALL MEAN MY DOG IS WONDERFUL WITH ALL ANIMALS AND PEOPLE. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST AND HOPE IT ALL WORKS OUT WHAT EVER THE OUTCOME MAY BE. JOEY, FOR SUCH A YOUNG MAN TO HAVE SEEN THIS PLEASE DONT THINK ALL PITS ARE BAD,

      • JANINE

Thank you and I have never said all pitts are bad. I beleive it is all in how they are raised. ANY dog can be mean if it is raised to be mean. My dog people call ankle biters. I’m sure some are but I raised her to be a cuddle bunny…when anyone came to the door she barked then rolled on her back to have her belly rubbed!!! Like I said it is all in how they are raised. As for Joey hopefully in time he won’t be so afraid but for now it is still very fresh!!

      • Anonymous

Yes she is posting as anonymous so she can say “I never said that”

      • JANINE

Nope you are wrong again!! I have no idea how many he has bred!! Grow up and maybe put your name up here!!

      • PAM S

WHO WAS THIS COMMENT ADDED TOWARDS

      • JANINE

not you Pam the person who want to be anonymous think i’m putting up her things anonymous…was just letting them know i have no idea how many dogs they have bred nor do I care! I’m not the one typing all this ignorant stuff anonymous….but that person is staying anonymous!!!

      • ANGIE

OKAY ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!! LET IT GO!! WHY CANT ALL THESE IMMATURE PEOPLE COME TOGETHER FOR JOEYS SAKE? HES THE ONE WHOS HURTING HERE THE MOST!!! IF JANINE AND BRIAN WERE FRIENDS AND STILL ARE, THEN WHY CANT EVERYONE JUST HELP THE LITTLE BOY OUT WITH THE ISSUES HES GOING THRU SEEING HIS DOG BEING KILLED? YOU PEOPLE DONT REALIZE THIS ARGUMENT IS GOING NOWHERE. HE SAID-SHE SAID WONT SOLVE A PROBLEM. EVERYONES FAMILY IS GOING TO HAVE AN OPINION AND YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY ABOUT OPINIONS!! JUST TRY TO GET ALONG FOR THE CHILDS SAKE. HE DONT NEED ANY MORE PUT ON HIM THAN HE IS ALREADY DEALING WITH!!! I HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT NIGHT AND PULL TOGETHER AND MAKE AMENDS!!

      • steve

there is no law that says they have to remove all dogs because one makes a mistake, and there is no guarantee that they will even have to put the dog down because it was only a dog, and not a person

      • j

My dog was not only a dog…she was our baby!! That got killed!!

      • Anonymous

I think someone needs to get a hold of the police and cys and get that neighborhood under control….These people have kids around alll these drugs and horrible animals!! What are you all waiting for??? One of those kids to get ahold of the drugs or one of those dogs to hurt them kids? Come on I think if someone knows this family and what is really going on then they should do something about it!!!

      • anonymous

i totally agree im gonna print this all out and send it to cys in butler

      • Anonymous

Why bring CYS into a matter about dogs?

      • anonymous

first of all because they have 6 children in a home with a dog that is aggressive

      • Anonymous

4 kids in the home not 6…and the ANIMAL AGGRESSIVE dog is being put down when Animal Control and the Judge say we can!!!!!

      • Anonymous

That’s just being mean! Leave the children alone! That’s just wrong no matter what happened to poor Daisy!

      • pookypoo

Isn’t the dog going to be put down? If so then where’s the danger to the children?

      • JANINE

The danger is that the dog is still in that house. They still have to let it out to go to the bathroom and feed it. What if the dog gets loose again????

      • PAM S

WELL HOPEFULLY THEY ARE OUTSIDE WITH IT AND IT IS CHAINED AND UNTIL IT GOES TO COURT THATS ALL THAT CAN BE DONE BUTLER DOES HAVE A QUARENTINE LAW, THE COUNTY I LIVE IN DOES NOT. HONESTLY WHEN I GOT MY PUP YEARS AGO FROM THEM THEY SEEMED ALL ABOUT TAKING CARE AND FINDING GOOD HOMES FOR THE PUPS THE LADY AND GUY WERE VERY NICE TO ME AND MY PUP WAS WELL TAKEN CARE OF ACCORDING TO MY VET.

      • Anonymous

because both parties are being childish, sounds to me that everything was being taken care of very well by the responsible party, and that the dead dogs owner wanted sympathy and attention, so she called the news and started a bunch of drama which just in turn snowballed, i think people really need to grow up, it obviously was an accident so the owner of the chihuahua needs to except that and stop blowing it out of proportion, she obviously didnt have a problem with the dog before the attack if she was in the same house as it and so was her child, so she should stop saying that the responsible party raised it wrong and the owner of the pit needs to put it down when allowed and pay the vet bills as promised, for gods sake they are neighbors, and have kids how do they expect to live over the next few years if its gonna be like this forever, accidents happen just thank god it was only a dog and not a kid, animals can be replaced, yes they wont ever be the same but they can be

      • janine

I understand what you are saying. You must be another friend of Tina’s so again you only here her side. That’s fine!! I don’t want sympathy or attention!! This was to let people no that when they don’t have control of their animal what it causes a CHILD to have to deal witth in the end!! But I do thank you for your comment

      • ANONYMOUS

i AGREE THAT THESE DOGS SHOULD BE REMOVED, BUT I MYSELF OWN A PIT AND TRUST MY DOG WITH MY LIFE IF MY DOG EVER SHOWED AGGRESSION SHE WOULD BE PUT DOWN IMMED NOT WAIT TIL SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPENS, SO THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD BE BANNED IS HINDMANS PITS

  • christine

first of all the owner of the dog is my friend and he is not a bad person and neither are his dogs my kids play with the pittbulls still to this day, he has so many dogs because he fosters pitbulls for a rescue group first of all which isnt breaking any laws, second off someone doing work on the house, a contractor, left the door open and the dog got out, its not a mean dog, it only attacked the dog thinking it was defending its yard and family, which is what a lot of people teach their dogs to do, to be a good guard dog, its so sad that dog died and my friend has cried to me numerous times because she feels so bad that it happened, but it was an accident, and the dog is not dangerous and the fact that the lady whose dog was killed is now involving the media and everyone else a week after the incedent is bull, my friend planned to put the dog down that nite because she didnt want to have it around and the kids who did own the dead dog and make them have to see her and be reminded of what she did, but she cant by law she has to quaranteen it for 10-15 days, and then it will be put down, and the owner of the dead dog cried to my friend and begged her not to put her dog down the day it happened and said she knows they are good dogs and that it was an accident, and my friend offered to pay the vet bill and she says no dont worry about it ill pay its not a big deal, but my friend is still paying the vet bill, my friend is trying to do all the right things and this lady is changing her mind, her attitude, and her story a little more everyday i understand she lost her dog and she is hurt and so does my friend but why is she doing what she is doing? why wait a week to contact the media? why does she keep changing her mind and story? and why is she trying to make my friends look like bad people and their dogs like bad dogs when she is telling them to their face everything is fine and that the dogs are good dogs, hell i couldnt even begin to count how many times this lady has been around these dogs and left her kids around these dogs

    • Anonymous

if you are the wife of the owner u certainly do have the rght, after the attack did you then bring this dog back in the house with other pits and children? that dog was unstable after the attack and u risked alot. all of your animals should be taken and i hope the neighborhood bans together and demands it from judge.

  • Anonymous

My dog wasn’t even near that house!! I never said they were bad people…I haven’t changed my story at all!!! I contacted the media that night and they only got back to me thursday and showed up friday!!! They are paying the vet bill because animal control NOT ME is suing them for it!! Get your facts straight please!!

      • christine

no cuz the dog was dead we didnt have to put it down, but he helped me bury them, and i seen all the text from you that you sent her or someone sent her from your phone so dont tell me i need to get my story straight

    • anonymous

You must be friends with the lady of the dead dog YOU need to get your facts straight Not only her but her son have been inside that house when the dog was not in her cage and neither her nor her son seemed to have a problem with the dog being lose in the house not in a cage and not tied to the back door

      • ANONYMOUS

NO ACTUALLY WHEN I LIVED THERE I COULDNT STAND JANINE SO BEFORE YOU RUN YOUR MOUTH GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT U ONLY KNOW WHAT U HEAR FROM TINA AND BRIAN.

      • Janine

        My dog was killed

      • loiste

That may be true. But I’m sure that was before this incident happened. So what does that have to do with it. they wouldn’r be there now . I think everyone should act like the adults they are supposed to be. This is a sad thing that happened. And so what if you tie your do to the door some time,no different than tieing them up any where. I think everyone should stop and think of this poor child that is going to have that terrible image in his mind for a long time.

    • Anonymous

i go to that house all the time with my 3 kids and and the 6 kids that live there they all play with the dogs, even mine, i was even there yesterday and my 2 year old was playing with them still, they arent mean dogs, and that woman living there, his wife, yea she hasnt been there as long as the dogs, but she is still there and she still feels bad

      • Anonymous

That house is small, so how does 6 kids, 2 adults, and 11 dogs live there? I wouldn’t want my children living in that environment.

    • Anonymous

her kids weren’t around the dogs back then because you guys hated each other and her kids were never in the house to play with your kids. Every kid in this neighborhood has been in this house with the dogs and the last I check they were still alive. They have been in this house for birthday parties and just to play

      • JIM

WHAT? YOU ARE A COMPLETE MORON. I DIDNT TALK TO ANYONE DONW THAT END OF ROAD TO MUCH DRAMA WE STAYED AT OUR END OF THE ROAD, I COULD CARE LESS IF THEY WERE IN YOUR HOUSE AND WHEN THE FACT IS YOUR DOG KILLED ANOTHER ANIMAL THAT WAS ON A LEASH BEING WALKED BY A LITTLE BOY DUE TO YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER YOUR ANIMALS. MY KIDS ARE ONLY HERE ON WEEKEND AND NO THEY NEVER PLAYED WITH ANY OF THE CHILDREN ON THAT END. IF A PETITION COMES AROUND TO MAKE YOU GET RID OF ALL YOUR PETS I WILL BE SIGNING IT.

      • Anonymous

sorry my bad…THE KIDS ON THIS SIDE OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!…IS THAT BETTER JIM?

      • JIM

THE BELOW COMMENT WAS MADE CAUSE IT WAS STATED “her kids weren’t around the dogs back then because you guys hated each other and her kids were never in the house to play with your kids.” . SO BEFORE YOU BRING MY FAMILY INTO YOUR DRAMA GET YOUR STORY STRAIGHT,

      • Anonymous

it is humanly impossible to ban pittbulls from one neighborhood only, and so waste your time on a petition it wont go anywhere, and unless he has several incedents against him for fighting pits and dangerous pits, then hell always be able to own them, there is nothing that can be done, if anything hell just have to put a fence up

  • Pitt student

So you’re saying that I, a full-time college student, full-time employee, and a veteran of the Army National Guard is a low-life loser? Why don’t you do you’re research before you start making comment like that. You’re the low-life loser for just saying that.

  • Kaytee Kaylovespitbulls

and according to the vet if the chi owner had taken her dog to the vet when she received the call of the attack, and not 5 hours later the dogs chances for survival would have been much much better.

    • Anonymous

LOL Sorry that TINA called me and told me she was fine just needed some stiches!!! Thanks Tina and for Kay that is not true sorry they never said that to me so I will go get the papers and put them online for you!!! Don’t tell lies that’s so imature!!!! and I also told you that Sherri had her wrapped in a towleb y the time I got the dog down to my house and back up where it happened and the only wound that she unwrapped her enough to let me see one the one on her back…you know the one you said”wasn’t bad”:

      • Anonymous

tina called me right after it happened crying and upset worried cuz the dog was at the vet and all she was worried about was how your son saw the whole thing, she felt and still feels so bad, it was an accident, and yes it wasnt tied up because someone doing work on the house left the door open and she got out in all the confusion going on inside, that guy should of closed that door knowing there were dogs loose in the house, it wasnt tina or brians fault they never meant for it to happen and feel bad

  • Anonymous

don’t blame the dog blame the owner.. sww i have a pit nd she is the best! Pitbulls are not all that bad.. the dog is only there for fighting.. so if it sees a dog than it will attack the owner should face up..

    i like u!

  • Melissa R.

If you have a dog, you are responsponsible for keeping YOUR dog under control. To bad the door was left unlatched for the owner and the Pit, it should have then been caged. Be a responsible owner and take responsibility for your actions or inactions in this matter. I am not biased towards Pits either however, you as a pet owner need to understand the capabilites of your animal. Telling everyone your dog is not human aggressive, really? Come on people, who knows how that dog would have reacted should Joey have picked Daisy up. It is still a dog with a dog mentality. Neen, I am so sorry Joey witnessed this. You guys are in my thoughts and prayers.

    • Anonymous

Thank you Melissa the only one talking sense on here….I had 2 cats and because I DIDN’T want them getting out when work was being done on my house I put them in the bedroom until the workers were done and they were just cats!!!!

    • lacey

human aggression and animal aggression is two completely different things, not just in pits but in all animals, you can have cats that love people but hate other cats and would kill another cat if given the opportunitly if the pit was so human aggressive how come it never once bit the kid, it had every opportunity to bite him instead of the dog but didnt, and according to other post it was a stranger doing work on the house that left the door open so how is it the stranger didnt get bitten either while the dog was loose in the house, and yes it is very sad what happened i feel for them and the pain they must be in losing their pet and my heart especially aches for the little boy who had to watch it all, but any and all animals can be either one or the other or both or neither, and yes its a good thing that kid didnt pick the dog up because everyone knows what ANY dog would do if it was fighting another dog, reguardless of how nice the dog is, BUT just because a dog might bite a person while fighting another dog doesnt mean that the dog is human aggressive there is a difference between a dog wanting to kill or harm a person verses it accidently hurting a person while fighting another dog, that is what people are talking about when they say human aggressive, not that it wouldnt of happened or couldnt of happened on accident

      • Melissa R.

I never once said that the dog was human aggressive but at any given time, any dog, Pit, Rott or the nicest lab in the world, can bite someone for any number of reasons. People need to understand that. When someone walks up to my dogs and they say “Do they bite?”, my answer is always “They haven’t yet.” I was simply stating the dog could have easily mauled Joey should he have picked up Daisy because the he had the dog in his arms. I am not against Pits at all as I had a lab/pit mix, understand that. BUT the people KNEW she was animal aggressive and if you KNOW your pet is aggressive towards other animals, YOU, as a responsible pet owner makes every single effort to ensure YOUR pet doesn’t attack another animal. If it means caging the dog for a few hours until the worker is gone, so be it. I had a male lab/pit mix. He was extrememly aggressive towards other animals and towards men. So when people came over, I made sure he was crated because I knew his capabilities. And you are responsible for not letting your animal roam at large…it is a law in Pennsylvania.

      • Anonymous

ok obviously you didnt read my comment, your words were “Telling everyone your dog is not human aggressive, really? Come on people, who knows how that dog would have reacted should Joey have picked Daisy up” and i said a dog biting someone when it is fighting another dog doesnt mean its human aggressive, human aggressive means they want to attack all humans all the time… and ok so if someone walks up to your dog and you say that and it does turn around and bite someone does it make you a bad owner because you couldnt control your dog? because according to people on here is every pet owner should know what their dog is capable of and no accidents should ever happen, ever. yes any dog can bite at anytime it doesnt mean that the owner is bad or that the dog is bad it means that its an animal, and im sorry no one NO ONE can say that they have complete and total control of their animal all day everyday, its an animal, and ok so say your dog that was aggressive was in your house relaxing and a female family member comes over to visit and doesnt close your door all the way, they think they did but they didnt, and you think they did to but they didnt and it would of gotten out and bit someone would that of made you a bad owner? or that dog a bad dog? and im pretty sure i have seen numerous comments on here from the owner stating that she takes responsiblity, they are going to pay the bills, they are going to put their dog down once by law she is allowed, so how is it that she is not taking responsibility? sounds to me that she is being very responsible and trying to take care of everything, and again yes it is so sad about everything that happened but at some point people are going to have to realize everything that can be done is being done, and sometimes no matter how good of an owner you are or how good of a dog you have sometimes accidents happen, its tragic but its true!

  • ANONYMOUS

before i say this just so u know i really did live in this neighborhood and know these people, the owner is in a band he hangs drywalll and has 4 kids. janines drinking has nothing to do with what happenned so to put that on internet just shows how childish u are and ur friend are. harley (yes) i know the dogs name will be put down as she should be but if it werent for someone paying attention knowing she is animal aggressive it wouldnt have happenned. and the incident in aug 2009 was for rabies tags if it would have been investigated correctly the truth would be on here. the only ones that r gonna hurt are the kids on both sides of this story, his 2 little ones grew up with that dog. as far as being in cage all time , sorry but that is true all 3 of them. i personally have 2 pitbulls and a jack russel and its not my pits i worry about. all of the dogs should be fixed and not be breed AGAIN!!! as far as the poor little boy that had to see it yes thats gonna effect him for a long time but putting it on the news for all to see isnt gonna help him cause now people in school will bring it up and he has to relive it over again. so nobody is in the rght this time.
