Port Authority Routes Affected By 'Dark Knight' Filming

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- If you use public transportation, filming of "The Dark Knight Rises" will probably affect your commute at some point while various scenes are being shot.

"On Wednesday, some of the East Carson routes will see some delays," Heather Pharo, of the Port Authority, said.

Prep work has already been done on several South Side Streets. "No Parking" signs are up and other signs point to restrooms, catering and the set.

"On Thursday, we'll see some closures on parts of Fourth and Forbes, so some of the South Hills routes will be affected and also the Oakland routes, like the 61 and 71 series buses," Pharo said.

And there is more.

"And then on Friday, we're going to see a closure affecting Penn Avenue," she added. "It's actually an alley closure, but I understand they'll be running a cable across Penn Avenue, so our buses won't be able to use it. So, some of the East End routes that use Penn Avenue will be detoured."

All of those changes and detours are posted on the Port Authority's website.
