Ed Bouchette Discusses Lawerence Timmons' New Contract
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - 93-7 The Fan Steelers' Insider, and Pittsburgh Steelers' Beat Writer for the Post-Gazette, Ed Bouchette spoke with The Fan Morning Show just moments after reporting that the Steelers signed Lawrence Timmons to a long-term contract.
The deal is worth an estimated $50 million over six years. Ed saw this deal coming and calls Lawrence Timmons, "the Troy Polamalu of linebackers."
With the announcement of this deal, Ed says that there is a 99 percent chance that the Steelers will go through the season without signing Troy Polamalu to a contract extension. Bouchette tells us that a likely scenario is that the Steelers will tag Polamalu as the "Franchise Player" and leave the final piece, Mike Wallace, until next season because he will be a restricted free agent.
