Missing 19-Year-Old's Mother Holds Out Hope

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The name of a missing 19-year-old woman from Mt. Washington was mentioned in the probe of city police officer accused of operating a prostitution ring.

Alivia Kail has been missing since March.

Christine DiDiano hasn't heard about her daughter for the past six months – ever since she went on a supposed trip to Florida with her boyfriend, Alex Lorenzi.

Her family has had little to go on until now.

"I'm hoping and I've been praying for just one heart to open up," DiDiano said.

"But this isn't funny anymore. This is about all kinds of girls' lives, including Alivia. So … how far do you have to take it in order just to give her back to me."

The connection between Johns and Kail is fuzzy. Johns' attorney says he doesn't know her, but her name came up in the investigation, giving her family something they haven't had in a while.

"Hope – hope actually goes through my mind because for six months, you know, nothing has really given a little bit more insight," DiDiano said.

"But finding something now with her name on it – yeah – that's pretty big for me."
