Man Allegedly Videotaped Woman In Mall Dressing Room

ROSS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) -- Police are looking for a man who allegedly videotaped a woman while she was trying on clothes at Macy's.

This happened while the victim was in a dressing room on the second floor of the department store at Ross Park Mall at about 7 p.m. on August 16.

The victim told police that while she noticed a smartphone at the edge of her door.

When she realized what was happening, she said "excuse me" and the suspect pulled back the phone, according to Ross Township police.

The woman told police that after she got dressed, she tried to open the suspect's dressing room door which was locked.

She then told police when she left the dressing room area, the suspect followed her and she confronted him.

He told her: "I ain't got no phone." The man then reportedly ran out of the store into the parking lot.

Macy's sent KDKA-TV a statement regarding this incident.

"Macy's condemns this type of improper behavior and does everything possible to prevent it. When any associate or customer witnesses incidents such as this, we urge them to report it to store management so that we can take the appropriate action, including alerting local law enforcement."

The man was described as a light-skinned black male or possibly Hispanic wearing black shirt, khaki shorts and basketball shoes.

Images from the store's surveillance video have been released. Anyone with information is asked to call Ross Township police at 412-931-9070.
