Pittsburgh (KDKA)- The Pirates have called up six players from AAA Indianapolis including third baseman Pedro Alvarez.

Today the Pirates recalled LHP Jeff Locke (#61), LHP Aaron Thompson (#60), LHP Daniel Moskos (#57) and INF Pedro Alvarez (#24) from Triple-A Indianapolis.

The club has also selected RHP Jared Hughes (#70) from Triple-A Indianapolis and recalled RHP Evan Meek (#47) from his rehab assignment and reinstated him from the 60-day DL.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Pirates have transferred LHP Paul Maholm and LHP Kevin Correia from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.
