8 Cases Of Legionnaires Disease Confirmed In Turtle Creek

TURTLE CREEK (KDKA) – More than a half-dozen cases of Legionnaires disease have been reported at a local rehab facility.

The Allegheny County Health Department confirmed eight cases of Legionnaires at LGAR Health and Rehabilitation Center in Turtle Creek.

The facility has taken steps to eliminate the bacteria from the water system.

Patients are also being instructed to drink bottled water until all test samples are clear.

One patient remains hospitalized tonight, while the other seven are doing well.
