Compliments of Bella Sera Catering, Event Venue, Trattoria

Ingredients:
1.5 lb. golden delicious apples
1 lb. granny smith apples
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Topping Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup oats
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 to 2/3 cup melted butter

Directions:
Peel, core and slice apples into mixing bowl. Add remaining ingredients, mixing gently and thoroughly. Place in 13x9 glass baking pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees until apples begin to turn golden brown and juices are visible along the sides of the pan, approximately 30-40 minutes. Apples should be soft. Remove from oven and add topping.

For Topping:
Combine dry ingredients thoroughly and incorporate melted butter 1/4 cup at a time, mixing until consistency is firm and moist to touch. Sprinkle topping generously across baked apples and return to oven. Bake until topping has begun to turn golden brown, approximately 25-35 minutes more. Remove from oven, serve warm with French vanilla ice cream. Let cool and refrigerate after 12 hours, if any is left!

Makes: 10-12 servings
