PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Houston Texans on Sunday, but may have suffered an even bigger blow.

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was seen leaving Reliant Stadium on crutches after the game. He suffered an injury to his foot on the Steelers’ final drive of the game.

“A little bit of pain and disappointment obviously from losing the game and feeling like I could have done more and it was a little bit my fault that we didn’t play better,” Roethlisberger said.

Roethlisberger will undergo a MRI on Monday.

The Steelers fought back to erase a 10-0 deficit, but ultimately fell 17-10.

James Harrison also suffered an apparent head injury in the first half, but was able to return to the game.

The Steelers will return home to take on the Tennessee Titans in Week 5.

Ben’s getting old, and with a continued lack of a solid offensive line his days are numbered. He’s luck to have mostly been injury free to date.

I feel that the NFL got what it wanted! They have been going after Big Ben many a times with dirty hits with no penalties or fines like other teams have been hit with when their wimpy quaterbacks have been hit!!! Roger Goodell has made football really pathetic…….

As bad as Penn State played on Saturday, I think they could have beaten the Steelers yesterday. My sister from Hanover thinks they should replace the offensive line with the practice squad. It couldn’t be much worse.

Their offensive line would be a lot better if they actually practiced with each other. But with someone on the offensive line getting hurt nearly every game that can’t happen.

  • Nancy

The offensive line stinks. It was just a matter of time before Ben got hurt.
Why don’t the Steelers spend some of their money on a good offensive line that can protect their QB? What good is it to have receivers if Ben doesn’t have time to get the ball to them? Ben is one of the best QB’s in the league, but he’s not Superman! This has been the biggest problem the Steelers have had for a long time now. If the Steelers want to win another Superbowl, they need to keep Ben healthy. Wake up people!
