Braddock Detective Held For Trial On Burglary Charges
BRADDOCK (KDKA) - A Braddock Police detective will head to trial on burglary and drug charges.
On Tuesday, James Scuffle was held for trial on a list of charges including, theft of a motor vehicle, conspiracy, burglary and insurance fraud.
The thefts mostly took place in Westmoreland County while he was on medical leave following an on-duty automobile accident.
In one instance, Scuffle allegedly stole crack cocaine from the evidence room of the Braddock Police Department and gave it to a woman.
She was to sell the drugs to raise $450 in bail money for another woman's release. Investigators said Scuffle was afraid the woman in jail would snitch on him.
Scuffle is free on $100,000 bail and has been suspected y Braddock Borough Council without pay pending the result of the trial.
