MCKEESPORT (KDKA) — A 7-year-old is in critical condition after he was hit by a van in McKeesport.

The accident happened near the intersection of Poplar Street and Bowman Avenue.

The child apparently ran in front of an S&S Transit van on Poplar Street. The impact threw the child at least 30 feet.

The child was conscious and alert when taken to Children’s Hospital, but is now listed in critical, but stable condition.
